The family it belongs to is that of short, ribbed and straight-cut pasta. Their wavy striping is typical. They are excellent if seasoned with meat-based ragù. Also good accompanied by tomato sauce or vegetable and tomato sauces. It is a particularly suitable format also for baked pies.

The company began its adventure with a small pastry shop and with a line of cantucci, new in shape and taste, but respectful of tradition and authenticity and rigorously handmade. Soon the cantucci were joined by other high-quality artisanal products, such as pasta. Over time the company has expanded without forgetting respect for processing methods, some of which are still entirely manual.
The company's main objective is to safeguard the ancient Italian flavors and gastronomic traditions of the much-vaunted Mediterranean diet, while remaining at the forefront in terms of standards and certifications. Over the years, Michele Portoghese products have become synonymous with quality, authenticity and craftsmanship. Production is divided into three segments: Sweet Line, Savory Line and Pasta.
